Built by General Electric in Erie, Pennsylvania in the mid 1980s as the C36-7 model, this six-axle Co-Co diesel-electric locomotive has a 3,600 HP engine and was sold to China who took more than 400 units, many more than the US railroads. In China the locomotive designation is ND5-II.
