Welcome to the extensive railway network in the county of Marsdonshire! With nearly 160 miles (257km) of track network to explore, 23 stations (two under ground), four fully interconnected routes and 14 other lines,  this is much much more than just a route! 26 Standard and 31 Free Roam scenarios are included to give you a chance to explore the stunning and varied scenery and the countless places of interest in the area.

The railway network in Marsdonshire has always supplied vital links between the various communities and industrial centres. Across the network you'll discover a coal mining company, forestry commission, railway heritage centres, slate mine, a mountainous snow-capped ski centre line, car manufacturing and distribution centres, two large rail depots, dockyards, cement works/quarry, power station and a high security army base.

Timber, coal, slate, cement and military vehicles, amongst other items, can be transported across the network. There are two railway heritage museums, several large sidings and numerous other points of interest can be found along every part of the network, including an airport, motor racing circuit, Royal Navy assault ship berthed at the docks and the seaside town of Marsdon, which boasts a pier complete with a private railway line and station platform.

An electrified main line (with superelevation) links the two main cities in the county and a rural line takes passengers and freight through glorious hills and moorland. Another route skirts around the coastline, and all the scenery has been painstakingly modelled, from the open countryside to the  townscapes. Numerous new assets have been specially custom created for this add-on and the overall attention to detail is intended to give a unique and stunningly beautiful experience.

You can choose to drive numerous default locomotives, trains and rolling stock, and 'Marsdonshire Railways' liveries are supplied for the HST and Class 166 trains. As well as the default items, you can also drive various other Just Trains stock, such as the Class 153 DMU Advanced, Voyager Advanced and Class 67 Advanced & Car Carriers, all of which are available to buy from this website.

Note: Please note that if you do not already have the European Loco & Asset Pack and the US Loco & Asset Pack installed (both available to purchase from Dovetail Games via Steam) then you will need them both to allow the route to display correctly. Please note that one or both of those packs may be included in other products purchased from Dovetail games via Steam.

Additional stock (not supplied) is required to enable all the scenarios to be operated. Please see the System Requirements section below for details.

ROUTES

There are four main interconnected routes on the Marsdonshire network:

Cairnlochross to Portkeane

This is an electrified line connecting the cities of Cairnlochross in the west and Portkeane in the east, with eight stations. The line is approximately 44 miles (71km) in length and features supelevation. Several smaller lines branch off from the main line.

Marsdon to Anstone

This rural branch line of approximately 45 miles (72.4km) takes you through scenic countryside, moorland and hilly terrain, and features  challenging gradients and numerous tunnels and viaducts. The two settlements of Skelthwaite and Grenton are located on this line and both play host to steam locomotive museums. There are also two lines which branch off from the route.

Marsdon to Portkeane (coastal route)

This route is approximately 24 miles (38.6km) long and has six stations along it, two of which are under ground.

Grenton to Duntelum Pike

This challenging 14 mile (22.5km) line winds its way up the mountainside from the Grenton Railway Heritage Centre to the ski resort of Duntelum Pike. A unique feature of this particular route is that it is constantly covered with snow, which starts from about half way up the mountain. So, even if you start at Grenton on a glorious summer's day, you will notice as you climb upwards towards the ski centre that the terrain gradually starts to show signs of snow – and by the time you reach the top of the mountain, a full cover of snow is waiting for you.
