Enjoy the challenge of driving this powerful electric loco! Get ready to power down before you enter a neutral section of track and power up as you leave. It takes concentration, timing and skill to ensure smooth operation. Get it wrong and the loco could lose all power until you venture into the fully accessible and highly detailed machine room located between each of the cab ends to reset the circuit breakers. Be prepared to master the levers and switches and interpret the numerous indicators and lamps to control this fantastic classic locomotive.

This expansion for Train Sim World 5 includes the Class 86/2 electric locomotive with the air-conditioned Mk2F Coaches and the Mk.1 RMB Buffet Car, all of which are compatible with Livery Designer.

The Class 86/2 - the forerunner to the Class 87 - was employed on the West Coast Main Line and pulled both passenger services and the occasional freight service. The 86/2 was a sub-class of the 86/0 and had an improved suspension set-up to rectify issues experienced by the earlier 86/0 locomotive such as rough riding and track wear. The maximum speed of the 86/2 was set at 100 MPH. You will be sure to enjoy the authentic and distinctive sound set.

Our Class 86/2 features accurate modelling inside and out along with access to the machine room area, with some of the controls in that area being operational. Eight liveries are provided along with a set of five realistic and engaging scenarios for the Just Trains West Coast Main Line: Preston - Carlisle route.  

The Mk2F coaches are provided in BSO, TSO and FO variants, with BR Blue/Grey and InterCity liveries for each of them, and the Mk1 RMB Buffet Car comes in the same two BR liveries.

As well as air conditioning, the Mk2F coaches feature the much more modern-looking rectangular windows, compared to the older square type with sliding ventilation sections at the top. The Mk2F coaches also have a considerably more modern interior than the older wooden interior.

The Just Trains Class 86/2 coupled with the Mk2F Coaches and Mk1 RMB Buffet Car gives you a powerful combination to drive and enjoy!

CLASS 86/2 LOCOMOTIVES

Liveries

Eight liveries are included.

The liveries with the RCH (Railway Clearing House) designation have a set of jumper cables installed at each end of the locomotive to allow communication via the TDM (Time Division Multiplex) system between the leading locomotive and any trailing one or DVT vehicle.

A Helping Hand
Step in and operate a London-bound service after the booked locomotive has suffered a fault.

Delayed and Rerouted
Operate a late running cross-country service from Preston to Lancaster and back. You have missed your slot and will be required to clear the line for other services.

Cross Country Can
Operate a northbound service that is subject to a speed restriction due to a track defect. Can you keep to time?

The European
Operate a loco-hauled boat train from Preston to Carlisle.

It’s Coming Home
Operate a special foot-ex charter from Carlisle to Preston. Expect adverse aspects all the way!
